Abdullah Bin Afzal
Abdullah did his undergraduate from Aligarh muslim university (AMU) in electrical engineering and his masters from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Electrical Engineering. He joined IIT Kanpur in 2023 as a doctoral student. He is currently working on the modification of carbon-based polymer nanocomposites for energy storage applications. He also has simulation experience on Nanofluid Simuation using Quickfield.

Ajay James Thomas
Currently a Research Assistant at Technische Universität Ilmenau in Germany, Ajay James Thomas contributes to projects on spectroscopy and MEMS. He completed his Master's at IIT Kanpur, where his research focused on improving the dielectric properties of silicone rubber with nanocomposites. His professional background also includes working on electrical treeing at IIT Kanpur and as a Scientific Researcher in energy storage at IIT Bombay. This diverse experience highlights his expertise in materials science and electrical engineering.

Dr. Alireza Ganjovi
Dr. Alireza Ganjovi is a Senior Researcher at Fondazione Bruno Kessler, specializing in plasma and laser-optics technologies. He has over 15 years of experience in plasma engineering, high-voltage systems, and applied optics, delivering innovative solutions across energy, environmental, and manufacturing sectors. Dr. Ganjovi earned his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. His work is focused on developing advanced systems for sustainable energy and various industrial applications.

Amrendra Kumar

Amrendra Kumar is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He holds a Master's degree in High Voltage Engineering from Jadavpur University (2016) and a Bachelor's from West Bengal University of Technology (2012). His research focuses on the condition monitoring and ageing phenomena in solid nanocomposite insulation systems. He utilizes dielectric response analysis, space charge analysis, partial discharge measurements, and advanced material characterization techniques to investigate degradation mechanisms.

Dr. Asha Sharma
Dr. Sharma work involved probing the size and nature of the interfacial region around a nanoparticle in a polymer matrix using Electrostatic Force Microscopy. She was a recipient of the prestigious "IEEE Graduate Student Fellowship".
She is now an Assistant Professor at the Electrical Engineering Department of the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee.

Balaji Sriram

Balaji Sriram did his Master of Engineering Degree in High Voltage Engineering in 2019 from CEG, Anna University. Currently, he is pursuing Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He is also the founder and CTO of Simactricals. Pvt. Ltd, manufacturer of EV wireless chargers in India. His research interests include nano-dielectrics, HV-insulation design, space charge studies, numerical methods, topology optimization, finite element modelling, EV technology, wireless charging and physics-informed machine learning.

Harish Chakerwarti is a driven professional with a Master of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, which he completed in 2013. Himanshu Gupta

Himanshu Gupta (Member, IEEE) obtained his B. Tech degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, India in 2013. He received his M. Tech degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power & Energy Systems from NIT Meghalaya, India. After completing his M. Tech degree, he worked as a Lecturer at NIT Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. Currently, He is pursuing Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Kanpur, India. His research primarily focuses on the development of carbon-based epoxy composites for Electromagnetic Shielding Applications.

Dr. J C Pandey
Dr. Pandey is an Assistant Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at IIT BHU, specializing in high-voltage engineering. His doctoral research investigated space charge and interfaces in epoxy alumina nanocomposites, establishing his expertise in advanced materials. His current research interests include nanodielectrics, electrical insulation, and power system transients to enhance the reliability of high-voltage systems.

Dr. K. Elanseralathan
Dr. Elanseralathan is a distinguished Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE). His research interests are rooted in high voltage engineering, specifically the modeling of Partial Discharge (PD), high-frequency breakdown studies, and nano-dielectrics. A significant part of his work has been dedicated to the study of electric tree progression in polymeric dielectrics, both with and without voids.1 Dr. Elan's contributions are pivotal in advancing the understanding and performance of insulating materials in modern electrical systems.

Kasimala Udaykiran
Kasimala Udaykiran serves as an Assistant Engineer for the Telangana State Power Generation Corporation (TSGENCO). He is currently stationed at the Kothagudem Thermal Power Station (KTPS) in Paloncha, contributing to the region's power generation efforts. Mr. Udaykiran holds a Master of Technology degree, which he earned from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 2010.

Dr. Kingshuk Chatterjee
Dr. Chatterjee is currently a FARE fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Graduated in 2024, his doctoral research was centred on the electrical modelling and optimization of Electrochemical Supercapacitors. In addition to his primary focus on energy storage devices, he is also interested in research problems related to the condition monitoring of high-voltage apparatus. Outside of his academic pursuits, Dr. Chatterjee enjoys mountains, music, and photography.

Dr. Moon Moon Bordeori

Dr. Bordeori is currently a Post Doctoral Researcher in the Power Grids and Components division, Department of Electrical Engineering, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. She did my PhD in High Voltage Engineering from the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. I am working to build my expertise in solid dielectrics, focused on understanding the Water Treeing phenomenon inside dynamic subsea cables. I have experience in electrical treeing phenomenon and partial discharge leading to insulation failure. My work involves developing multi-physics models of solid dielectrics to study the degradation phenomenon, such as treeing, void formation and space charge accumulations within the volume of material.

Dr. Nasirul Haque
Dr. Haque received his Master of Engineering degree with specialization in High Voltage Engineering from and Ph.D. in engineering form Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India in 2014 and 2019 respectively. He was a post doctoral resercherche in IIT Kanpur and currently he is an Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering Department, NIT Calicut, Kozhikode.His research interests include HVDC insulation and condition monitoring of High voltage equipment.

Dr. Parimal Maity
PhD - 2009
Dr. Maity is a distinguished engineer and researcher with a strong background in materials science and mechanics. He earned his Ph.D. in Solid Mechanics, Nanocomposite & Nanodielectrics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 2009. Currently, he holds the position of Lead Engineer at Eaton, where he applies his extensive knowledge. His career also includes a post-doctoral position at Michigan State University and an assistant professorship at the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur. Dr. Maity's work focuses on polymer composites, biomaterials, and modeling to predict material properties.

Pratyasha Das
Pratyasha Das is a doctoral candidate who began her PhD program in 2019. She holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, which she earned from the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (formerly known as W.B.U.T.), West Bengal, in 2019. Her research mainly focuses on the atomistic simulations and characterisation of dielectrics. As a part of her other interests, she likes to actively volunteer for IEEE and is currently a part of the IEEE DEIS SBC, IITK and IEEE DEIS WIE communities.

Rakesh Kumar
Rakesh Kumar completed both his B.Tech. and M.Tech in Electrical Engineering there. He specialised in Power Engineering for his Master's degree between 2015 and 2016. During his postgraduate studies, he demonstrated strong research capabilities by authoring two IEEE conference papers. Beyond academics, he was also an active participant in extracurricular, including quizzes and sports, during his time at the institute.

Ranjeet Singh
Ranjeet Singh completed his Master's from IIT Kanpur in 2017, specializing in the simulation of lightning protection for aircraft radomes. His work involved using COMSOL to analyze the temperature distribution and electromagnetic performance of radomes when struck by lightning. This research is crucial for optimizing the placement of lightning diverter strips to protect aircraft made of composite materials without interfering with radar systems.

Rishab Phartiyal
Rishab Phartiyal is an Assistant Manager at TVS Motor Company, applying expertise from his M.Tech at IIT Kanpur. During his master's research, he focused on damage detection and identification in CFRP composites using Electrical Resistance Tomography (ERT). His project work also included designing buck converters, showcasing his skills in power electronics

Dr. Ritesh Patel
PhD - 2014
Dr. Patel is currently serving as the Professor and Head of the Electrical Engineering Department at G H Patel College of Engineering and Technology. He earned his Ph.D. in 2014 with a specialization in the dielectric properties of epoxy-based composites using metal oxide nanofillers. His extensive research interests include the electrical characterization of insulating materials for high-voltage applications and the stability analysis of power systems. His work contributes significantly to advancing material science and the reliability of modern electrical apparatus.

Dr. Romana Zafar

Dr. Zafar obtained the Ph D degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur India in 2019. She worked in the area of Electrical Characterization and Dielectric Phenomena of Insulating Materials . She published her research articles in the prestigious International Journals and also presented her research in International and National Conferences in India and USA. Her current research interests include Nanodielectrics/Polymer Nano-Composites, High Permittivity Nanocomposites and their potential applications, Finite Element Method (FEM) based modeling of Nanocomposites.

Dr. Shreya Ghatak
Dr. Ghatak works at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Mumbai. She completed her M.Tech from IIT Kanpur in 2008, where her research focused on developing a kinetic model of multipaction for SRF cavities, a crucial component for accelerator-driven systems. This work involved optimizing cavity design and tracking electron trajectories to identify and mitigate multipacting effects.

Dr. Supriyo Das
Dr. Das is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Meghalaya. Having completed his Ph.D. in 2014, his doctoral research was centered on space charge phenomena in polymeric insulating materials. His current research interests include the condition assessment of electrical insulation, lightning transients, and modeling power apparatus. Through this work, he contributes to enhancing the reliability and safety of high-voltage systems.

Swati Gupta
Swati Gupta completed her Master's from IIT Kanpur in 2008, with research focused on the behaviour of dusty plasmas. Her work involved developing a two-dimensional PIC-MCC model to simulate how charged dust particles, originating from various sources, dynamically alter the characteristics of radio-frequency discharges in Argon gas.

Dr. Syed Abdullah Qasim
Dr. Qasim did his B.Tech. and M.Tech from AMU Aligarh. He did his PhD from IIT Kanpur. His PhD topic was 'Use of Functionally Graded Materials for efficient electric stress control in insulators'. After his PhD, he briefly worked as a Senior Project Engineer at IIT Kanpur. Presently, he is working in the Department of Electrical Engineering of IIEST Shibpur as a faculty member.

Vijaykumar Varkala
Vijaykumar Varkalais is a Senior Motor Development Engineer at Schaeffler AG, where he focuses on developing E-Drives for electric and hybrid vehicles. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, he completed his M.Tech in 2010. His postgraduate research and thesis were centred on the modelling and simulation of outer rotor permanent magnet synchronous motors. This specialized academic background provides a strong foundation for his current role in advancing e-mobility solutions.
